If you've done any research online about paranormal you may have come across this photo known as the Boot Hill photo. It may possibly be the most popular paranormal photo ever taken. It was taken in Tombstone, AZ by a local resident. The story is his friend came to visit and wanted the whole western, cowboy experience. He bought some black and white film and a cowboy outfit for some photographs. This photo was taken on Boot Hill. You'll notice some tombstones in the picture along with the figure to the right of the man. This picture never been debunked. The original film is still in tact and was never tampered with. So what is this exactly? A real man? Some sort of illusion? or a spirit showing up for a photo over his tombstone? I guess we'll never truely know.
Here's a video clip of Ghost Lab's investigation of Boot Hill and Tombstone, Arizona. You can find the full video online about their entire experience at Tombstone. They were able to catch alot of evidence to back up the claims that people say happen there.

Haunted Forest Altadena/Pasadena
Here's some random clips we put together of our daytime hike up the old Cobb Estate/Haunted Forest in the Altadena hills near Pasadena, CA. We went in the day to capture video. We had no intentions of catching paranormal activity. It was just a nice hike a ways up the canyon to see the awesome view of LA county. There was an accident when it began getting dark at the bottom of the hike. It seems it's becoming pretty common. We've seen paramedics up there twice in two weeks.
We'll be going back up the trail into the haunted forest for the 3rd time very soon. Our goal is to document our experiences there during the night. Going on the old path towards Cobb Estate during the daytime gave us a good idea of what things look like during the day. We'll also be using flash photography to see if anything appears.

Linda Vista Hospital Investigation
Check out our flickr account for more photos from our Linda Vista investigation. We are currently working on permission to go inside for a further investigation. We unfortunately had a difficult time tonight with some locals posing as security for the property even though we never tresspassed on the site.
Tonight, Westside Paranormal engaged in its first official paranormal investigation. Though we weren't entirely prepared, and discovered a few obstacles, we still had a really good time.
Our first stop of the night brought us to the Linda Vista Community Hospital. Built in 1904, its purpose was to serve the Santa Fe Railroad employees. By 1937, it became the Linda Vista Community Hospital. During this time, it underwent numerous phases of expansion, which is evident in the building's six floors. The design ranging from classical revival to art deco and streamline modern periods.
A year before closing in 1990, a survey reported the hospital had a facility that housed 150 beds and provided service under medicare and medicaid programs. It had nine full-time registered nurses, and roughly 53 full-time personnel.
It inevitably closed in 1991, once the hospital ceased to function or offer in-patient care. It has since been shut down, and closed off. It is now available for film locations. The lobby and first floor of the facilities have been maintained for these purposes. The owners have also added on a chapel as well as a much larger version of the morgue for just same reason.
Paranormal investigations have conducted investigations a few times at this particular location. All the different teams report mysterious noises, and feelings of uncomfortableness while in the hospital. Those interested in holding their own personal paranormal research within the hospital, will be allowed during the film off season, and for the price of 150 bucks an hour.
All in all, a very interesting place with a long history. We will follow up with Linda Vista in the future, hopefully gaining the opportunity to enter the premises.
Our second stop of the night brought us to old town Pasadena; The haunted forest. Located at the bend of lake avenue, it's tall gates are distinctive and warning. Originally a driveway to a prestigious resort, the road is now worn and weathered, and frankly a little dangerous. Good hiking shoes are a must, and definitely some day light.
We didn't walk in very far, as it was completely pitch black, and we had but one flash light with us. Aside from the dark, there are most likely bums lingering around the woods, and we had no form of protection.
The trails up to the top of the cobb estate forest, where the resort once stood, is about a two mile hike. Though, research has informed me that the foundation of the resort still remains. I've also learned that there was a railway that resided on this location, and artifacts can be found up at the top. Staircases and beautiful views are also things to expect after the hike, but we decided to save this for a day before the sun goes down.
We've yet to uncover the reason why the resort shut down, or why is was eventually knocked down. We also have not yet found any true reason to believe the forest is haunted, despite the fact that the place is creepy looking, and you get a sense of uneasiness while there.
This location is another place we will be visiting simultaneously. Next trip out, we will get some pictures to post up.
For now, this what we have. Tune in next sunday for our second investigation!

Three Main Types of Hauntings
Residual Haunting
A residual haunting is one of the most popular forms of a haunting. Residual hauntings occur when the spirit experienced something traumatic, such as murder or a freak accident. This energy gets trapped in time, imprinted in the place of which it occurred. This is not an intelligent haunting, thus a residual is comparative to a movie; meaning it plays the event over and over again. There can be no contact made between you and the entity, and the entity is unaware of its surroundings. People who have experienced this type of residual haunting may encounter footsteps, crying, loud and sudden bangs.
A residual haunting can also occur when it's caused by something positive that happened, like an event/party. This energy is imprinted in the space. People who have experienced this type of residual haunting, may have experienced hearing music, dancing, people talking, laughing.
Intelligent/Interactive Haunting
These types of hauntings are more rare, however they do exist. An intelligent entity is one that is able to move objects, speak, and respond directly to instructions and requests of a person that's in the room with it. These entities are associated with any type of physical activity, voices, scent, or touch. There are even specific cases where a manifestation of the entity is experienced.
Intelligent hauntings can be a result of, a traumatic incident, unfinished business, emotionally attached and/or distraught, fear of passing over, unaware that they have died, they cannot rest due to an injustice. Generally the entities seem to be attached to particular locations and people.
Demonic Haunting
A demon is an entity that is inhuman. Never has it been a human and never will it be. Those few who have encountered demons report them as being horrific looking creatures, as their sole intention is to frighten you and cause you harm. In a demonic haunting, this entity is generally attached to a single person or location however, demons are able to constantly move locations and follow those whom it's attached itself to. In a demonic haunting, those involved have experienced a variety of sinister and evil encounters. Not only are they intelligent entities, they are also cruel and ruthless energies. They can cause emotional fluctuations, scratch marks and/or bite marks, loud noises, disruptions during sleep or significant celebrations. Demons exist purely to cause chaos and stress in your life. They work to wear you down, and sometimes, they do this as an effort to possess ones bodily form. Demons have also been referred to as soul stealers.
When dealing with a demonic presence one must always be cautious and constantly aware of their surroundings; never provoking the spirit or asking it to come forward. It's commonly believed that demons feed off negative energy, thus the more you send out into the atmosphere, the more likely it is to manifest itself.

the Imp demon
We were sharing stories tonight about different things we've heard over the years about small sized demonic beings. I decided to look up some info online about small demons, but I came up with very little info. It seems the most common term for one is an Imp. I've had family on both sides with experiences with a little demon or Imp. My father and great aunt have each seen one at different points in their lives without knowing of each others stories. In both cases the description to me of the Imp was the same. It was a small doughboy sized creature. It had similar shape to a human, but it's body didn't have any real features similar to a doughboy. In both cases the demon appeared to them at a very stressful time during their lives. It seemed the little demon was their to antagonize them. It only appeared to them for a couple of seconds, but it was laughing at them as if it was taunting them.
On the other side of my family (my wife's side) they share stories of a little demon in their culture. In their small group of people from Thailand it seems very common to have occourances with these creatures. As a young girl growing up in the states after her family moved here from Thailand she remembers different encounters with an Imp that they believed lived in their house. It was normal to here little footsteps running through the hallway upstairs when they were downstairs. In their culture they would say the small demon would sit on their chest at night and make it hard for them to breathe. Outside of the occourances with this little demon they believed there was other Demons in their house at times. I feel like the Imp is there to stress or antagonize you during uncertain times. Although it may not cause any immediate harm, or it may be seen as a type of jokester; it may be laying the groundwork for more powerful demons to take hold of a human or try to break them completely. I see it as a sort of gateway demon who is set in place to be a thorn in someones side while bigger things are in the works.
